Lanciano

Home Up Silberpfeil Lanciano

16.1hh  Thoroughbred Stallion

Approved CWHBA & CTHS

Lanciano was bred in Germany, where the criteria for Thoroughbreds at stud are extremely strict.  He was a Grade 11 stakes-winner there before being imported to North America.

Lanciano was inspected and is licensed with the Canadian Warmblood Association (CWHBA) and Canadian Trakhener Horse Society (CTHS) . He scored 7s and 8s, including an 8 for jumping. Head inspector Fritz Von Blotnitz said, “Overall Thoroughbred stallion who could improve warmblood breeding. For a Thoroughbred horse he has enough elasticity”. Offspring from Thoroughbred, warmblood and Arab mares are available. Lanciano’s semen is excellent quality.

Lanciano represents a rare opportunity to obtain Thoroughbred bloodlines successfully used in European Warmblood breeding for decades.   His ancestors can be found in the pedigrees of Olympic competitors and medal winners in all three FEI disciplines from 1956 to 2004. These are bloodlines that have stood the test of time.

His sire, Surumu xx, has several sons and grandsons approved for sport breeding in Germany. For example: Surumu xx has the sons Acatenango xx, Bandoliero xx, Lokator xx (Bayern and Hannover regions), Occamonte xx (Landgestut Zweibrucken), Rivero xx, and Tempeltanz xx to his credit and appears as the grandsire of stallions such as Concinales xx, Kanudos xx and the Westfalen stallion Banjo (Landgestut Warendorf). His dam carries a full sister to Surumu’s sire as well as such famous sport influences as Persian Gulf xx and Neckar xx. The line breeding to the full siblings makes him an ideal candidate for outcrossing to warmblood mares.
